From Farming in Fort Kent to Johnny’s Selected Seeds, Crown of Maine, and ‘WhatsGood,’ a New Virtual Farmer’s Market, Mike Gold has thoroughly explored Maine’s food system since he graduated from UMaine’s sustainable agriculture program.

The School of Food and Agriculture is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its sustainable agriculture program with a special seminar series. The University of Maine was the first in the nation to offer a bachelor’s degree in sustainable agriculture. The Sustainable Agriculture program, initiated in 1988, has been highlighted in the Chronicle of Higher Education.
