Kappa Omicron Nu students help Black Bear Exchange and Good Shepherd Food Bank

This fall, members of the University of Maine chapter of Kappa Omicron Nu honor society collected nearly 1,000 pounds of nonperishable food and personal care supplies to benefit the Black Bear Exchange on campus. The students in food science and human nutrition, and child development and family relations also volunteered Dec. 13 to pack 400 food boxes for distribution  by Good Shepherd Food Bank to elders in the community. Faculty mentors involved in the initiatives include Mona Therrien, Brian Perkins and Jennifer Newell-Caito.
