Austin named Technology Coordinator

Mark Austin is the new technology coordinator for the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry, and Agriculture at the University of Maine. He succeeded Louis Morin, who retired this summer, on November 1.

In his new role, Austin provides specialized troubleshooting and advisory technology support for the college’s educational, administrative, and research efforts. He will also develop and execute technology plans for instructional spaces and service laboratories.

“I am fun loving and approachable despite my red-headed Viking appearance and look forward to working with all of you,” Austin said.

Austin has worked for the University of Maine since 2008, where he was most recently technology lead for Information Technology Support Services. He has a degree in computer information systems from Eastern Maine Community College. He is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in computer information systems with a concentration in data science at the University of Maine at Augusta.
