Maine consumers needed for brief survey on fermented foods

Researchers in the University of Maine School of Food and Agriculture and Cooperative Extension invite you to take part in a research study involving a 10-minute survey about fermenting foods and beverages at home. Fermentation is a traditional food preservation method used to make foods such as sauerkraut, pickles, kimchi, kombucha, yogurt and many other products.  If you are making any of these foods at home, or would like to learn how to do so, please visit our survey at bit.ly/umfermentsurvey.

Any information that you provide will be kept confidential, and the survey is anonymous. Please do not answer the survey unless you are at least 18 years old and living in Maine. Your answers will help us to develop useful educational materials to help home fermentation enthusiasts. For more information, please contact Professor Mary Ellen Camire at (207)581-1733 or camire@maine.edu. The survey link will remain open until July 16, 2017.
