Alaska Dispatch uses Climate Reanalyzer map

Alaska Dispatch News posted a map from the Climate Reanalyzer website in an article about a deep freeze predicted to descend on North America, Europe and Asia due to record-high temperatures across the Arctic. “Think of it like a seesaw,” said Matt Rogers, president of Commodity Weather Group in Bethesda, Maryland. When winter temperatures rise north of Alaska, Rogers said that “forces an equal-opposite downward-southward push. The cold essentially has to go somewhere else.” The Climate Reanalyzer was developed by researchers in UMaine’ School of Earth and Climate Sciences, and the Climate Change Institute.
